Doug and Sheryl Riley

Doug and Sheryl have been partners in bridge and in life for 27 years with three wonderful children and two spoiled dogs. Originally Midwesterners, they moved south when they got married, and learned bridge while Doug was an impoverished graduate student. Doug and Sheryl began playing duplicate bridge at the Birmingham Duplicate Bridge Club in 2008 after their third child was born in an effort to get out of the house and save their sanity. This plan allegedly worked, at least until the kids started playing bridge as well. Now the whole family enjoys traveling to tournaments around the country as their work and school schedules allow. Doug and Sheryl have been finalists for the NABC President’s Cup four of the past five years. Both are still working towards their Life Master goal. When not playing bridge or writing mysteries, Doug is a mathematics professor and Sheryl is a paralegal.
